Red leaves on gray watercolor on Arches 15x22"
We have had the most spectacular fall that anyone can remember. It is October and we have yet to see snow...a thing unheard of...and it has been unseasonably warm. The leaves have had a long time to show their colors, but now they are mostly on the ground. Still, it has been wonderful, and we are all grateful for the show. This bush in my front yard puts on a particularly beautiful display, going from green to gold to scarlet, with every combination inbetween. Lovely. I have tried to capture some of that beauty...but can we ever really improve on nature? I have yet to manage...but I am pleased with the way it turned out. I have another that I will post later this week.
Enjoy!

Beautiful painting. We see next to no Fall Color but have mild winters. I love the trade-off. Welcome back to the Blog World. I was getting worried about you.

Hey, you're still painting - I was wondering if your job took over your time completely. That's a beauty!

Thanks so much Myrna & Nava!
I know I have been severely lax in my posting. But I have been painting alot. Winter is coming so I'll be in hibernation mode soon, and much more likely to post on a regular basis. And I promise not to whine about winter so much this year....it doesn't do much good anyway!

This painting is really beautiful. You captured the vibrancy so well against a muted sky. I love it!

I love love love this watercolor. I have just started using watercolors and really just started my art again after years of only doing it here and there. My 9-5 job zapped most of my energy and left little time for my art, but I'm on it again!

Your watercolors are wonderful and the color is fantastic. I'm still learning how to use them after mostly working with oil both before and after art school.

Thanks for sharing your art-it is really so very nice.
